Harmonisation of Serbian and Hungarian (domestic) law with the European Union Law and Cross-Border Cooperation

In addition to colleagues from the Faculty of Law in Szeged, at the Conference participated representatives of departments from our Faculty: prof. Zoran Arsić, Ph.D., prof. Ištvan Feješ, Ph.D., prof. Senad Jašarević, Ph.D., prof. Sanja Đajić, Ph.D., prof. Magdolna Sič, Ph.D., prof. József Hajdú, Ph. D.

All scientific papers, written in this year within the Project, will be published in a thematic collection of papers.

 

 

International scientific conference

On April the 17th 2015, Faculty of Law Novi Sad was the host of the International Scientific Conference within the Project „Harmonisation of Serbian and Hungarian (domestic) Law with the European Union Law and Cross-Border Cooperation“ which is realized by Faculty of Law Novi Sad and Faculty of Law Szeged. Results of the research in the third year of the project were presented at the conferencе, from the side of professors of these faculties of law. The conference was opened by dean Ranko Keča, Ph. D., Full Professor, Faculty of Law Novi Sad and by dean József Hajdú, Ph. D., Full Professor, Faculty of Law Szeged.

Scientific Conference of European Ombudsman Institute

 

 MG 9134From 23rd to 24th of September 2011, Novi Sad Faculty of Law hosted the Scientific Conference of European Ombudsman Institute on the subject “Problems in everyday work of ombudsman – problems and solutions”. On this occasion, the Faculty hosted ombudsmen of European countries, regions and cities from Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia,

Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Germany, Lithuania and Serbia.
 
 
The meeting of Executive Board and General Assembly of the Institute were held during the Conference. Burgi Volgger, South Tyrol ombudsman was elected for the president of the Institute. Dieter von Blarer, ombudsman at Canton of Basel and Professor Dragan Milkov, full professor of the Novi Sad Faculty of Law and a member of the Board since 2007, were elected for the vice-presidents.         

 

Harmonisation of Serbian and Hungarian (domestic) law with the European Union Law and Cross-Border Cooperation

 

DSC09517The international conference, as a part of the international project Harmonisation of Serbian and Hungarian (domestic) law with the European Union Law and Cross-Border Cooperation was held on 14 December 2012 at the Faculty and Faculty of Law of the University of Novi Sad. At the conference participated professors of the host Faculty and the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Szeged. The participants have presented results of their research in the first year of the Project and the topics which will be in the focus of the research in the following years. The conference was chaired by Prof. Dr. Karsai Krisztina, associate professor at the Szeged Faculty of Law and Prof. Dr. Tatjana Bugarski, associate professor at the Novi Sad Faculty of Law. Papers, as the results of the research, were published in a separate publication - thematic collection of papers “Harmonisation of Serbian and Hungarian Law with the European Union Law”, issued by the Novi Sad Faculty of Law Publishing Center in 2013.

Annual meeting of the Law Subject Committee

P6015103On 1 June 2012. Novi Sad Faculty of Law hosted the annual meeting of the Law Subject Committee of the international program of student mobility - Campus Europae (European University Foundation). At the meeting participated the following representatives of partner universities: Prof. Matthew Happold (University of Luxembourg, Chair), Mr. Bernd Justin Jütte (Chair Assistant), Prof. Hayrettin Caglar (Gazi University), Mr. Archil Chochia (Tallin University of Technology), Prof. Anatoly Gusev (Novgorod State University), Mr. Michael Kaszubski (University of Lodz), Dr. Alla Sokolova (EHU Vilnius), Prof. Charles Szymanski (Vytatas Magnus University), Ms. Laura Tammenletho (University of Eastern Finland), Prof. Matti Tolvanen (University of Eastern Finland), Ms. Julia Höltge (Student Representative). Novi Sad Faculty of Law was represented by Prof. Slobodan Orlovic and Mr. Bojan Tubić.

The Committee was welcomed to the University of Novi Sad by Vice Rector for International Relations and Science, Prof. Pavle Sekeruš and International Relations Officer Ms. Ivana Đokvučić. For the Faculty of Law Vice Dean Prof. Slobodan Orlović welcomed all participants.

Prof Anatoly Gusev introduced the Law Faculty of Novgorod State University as the newest member to the Committee.

The Committee agreed to take a next step in developing cooperation on the graduate level by implementing double-P6015106degrees on the master level. For this purpose, bilateral agreements between compatible faculties should be concluded, independent of the relevant provisions on undergraduate exchange of the Cooperation Agreement concluded between the faculties. It was agreed that possible matches between faculties should be identified before the next meeting, which would serve to discuss the framework in more detail.

It was presented that the Campus Europae could provide limited financial support for student-centered cooperation between the faculties. Also, it was concluded that cooperation on PhD level would be encouraged within the partner universities.
