Bojan Tubić, Ph.D., Associate professor

He was born in 1980 in Osijek. He graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Novi Sad in 2003. In the same year he was elected as a teaching assistant for Public International Law. He became an assistant at the Department of International Law in 2007, followed by the election for an assistant professor in 2014. In 2019 he was elected for an associate professor. He defended magistrate thesis in 2007 (The Use of Local Remedies as a Requirement for Admissibility of International Application). He completed doctoral studies in 2012 by defending Ph.D. thesis (Judicial Control of acts of international organizations and particularly of European Communities and European Union). He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Novi Sad – Department of History in 2016.
He is a head of the Department of International Law and International Relations. Since 2015 he has been Vice-dean for international cooperation of the Law Faculty of the University of Novi Sad. In the period of 2012-2018 he was a member of the Committee for Statutory Issues of the Council of the University of Novi Sad and from 2015 to 2018 also a member of the Committee for Quality Assurance and Internal Evaluation of the University of Novi Sad. In March 2018, he was appointed for an assistant minister in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development within the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

At the bachelor studies, he teaches Public International Law 1 and 2, Introduction to the EU Law, as well as optional subjects – Diplomatic and Consular Law and International Humanitarian Law. At master studies, he gives lectures in International Relations, while at doctoral studies of Public Law he teaches International and European Antidiscrimination Law.During his bachelor studies he has been a member of several moot court teams which have been awarded at international competitions. He has been a head of the Moot Court Center at the Law Faculty of the University of Novi Sad for more than ten years, where he has been preparing students for moot courts before International Court of Justice, European Court of Human Rights and International Criminal Court.

He is engaged as a researcher on the Project of the Law Faculty of the University of Novi Sad – ‘Legal Tradition and New Legal Challenges’ and on the project of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development ‘Biomedicine, environmental protection and law’. He is also a researcher on the international project ‘Global Atrocity Justice Constellations’, in the field of International Criminal Law, which is organized by the academic network COST, with 38 participating countries, supported by the EU Framework for Research and Technological Development.

Study visits: Budapest (Hungary) 2003 and 2006, Washington (USA) 2004, 2005 and 2006, Faculty of Law of the Karl Franzens University of Graz (Austria) 2005, European University Viadrina in Frankfurt an der Oder 2007, Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg (Germany) 2007, Faculty of Law of the West University of Timisoara (Romania) 2016, Faculty of Law of the Lumsa University in Palermo (Italy) 2018 and Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia) 2018.  .

Fields of interest: Public International Law, EU Law, Human Rights.

Dr Bojan Tubić is author/co-author of 4 books and over 30 other scientific papers.

He speaks English and has basic knowledge of French, Spanish, Italian and German.
