Magdolna Sič, Ph.D. Associate Professor

Born in Kula in 1954. She graduated from the Novi Sad Faculty of Law in 1977. In 1986 she received her LL.M. degree from the Belgrade Faculty of Law with thesis “Sale Contract as Regulated by the Provisions of Lex Romana Visigothorum”. In 1992 she defended her doctoral dissertation “Codex Theodosianus” at the same faculty. She started her career at the Novi Sad Faculty of Law as the assistant in 1978. In 1993 she was promoted to the assistant professor and in 2002 to associate professor. She teaches Roman Law to law students and students of the Group for Internal Affairs. She teaches courses in Bona Fides of Roman Law and Real Means of Securing Claims on doctoral studies of Private Law. She teaches course in History of State and Law I and II on doctoral studies of Public Law. 

In 1978 she visited University Jozsef Attila in Szeged (Hungary) and in 1988 she went to University “La Sapienza” in Rome (Italy). In 2003 she stayed at Eötvös Lóránd University in Budapest. She participated in international meetings of Roman and Civil law experts.

Areas of academic interest: Roman history, Roman law (with special interest for the late period of Roman legal history) and influence of Roman law on contemporary law.

Professor Magdolna Sič, Ph.D. published 2 exercise books, 1 textbook, co-authored 1 monograph and authored more than 100 academic articles.
