Born in Mostar in 1950. He graduated from the Novi Sad Faculty of Law in 1974, where he received his LL.M. degree in 1980 with thesis “Judicial Settlement”. In 1984 he defended his Ph.D. dissertation “Legal Remedies in Civil Procedure” at the Novi Sad Faculty of Law. He was elected for assistant at Department of Civil Law in 1975, for the assistant professor in 1985, for associate professor in 1995, and for the full professor in 2000. Professor Ranko Keča is the Head of the Department of Civil Law and was the Head of postgraduate studies on the Department for Civil Law. At the Novi Sad Faculty of Law he teaches Civil Procedure, Arbitration Procedures, and Legal Regime of Land and Waters. At the Belgrade Faculty of Law he teaches Civil Procedure. He teaches the same course at the Law Faculty in Srpsko Sarajevo. He taught Civil Procedure at the Law Faculty in Sarajevo during the school year 1988/89.

Professor Ranko Keča, Ph.D. served as the Dean of the Novi Sad Faculty of Law in 2000. and currently executes  the same  function. He is a listed arbitrator at the Permanent Arbitration Court of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

Area of academic interest: all aspects of civil procedure, law of arbitrations and judicial system.

Professor Ranko Keča is the author or co-author of 5 books and around 50 academic articles and scholarly writings.
